Vineyard Info

Family owned and independent since 1870, the Bonfils family has been crafting wines capturing the essence of South of France terroirs since 6 generations. The Domaines and Châteaux combine vineyard and luxury hotels to make you discover our exceptional terroirs during an oenological escape on the roads. Committed to protecting the environment, we preserve the integrity of each of our classified natural sites.

Château Vaugelas grows a 150-ha vineyard on the municipality of Camplong d’Aude, between mount Alaric and the Black Mountain (Montagne Noire) and has belonged to the Bonfils family since 2000. From the 16th century onward, Benedictine monks planted vines on this magnificent terroir made of shaly and gravelly screes brought via the Orbieu river, which runs at the borders of the estate. At the time, Château Vaugelas supplied the abbey of Lagrasse with wine.
